New South Wales levels the State of Origin series

New South Wales has levelled the State of Origin series with a resounding 38-6 win over Queensland in Game II.

In the first Origin to be played in Western Australia, a record crowd of 59,721 were in full voice at Perth’s new Optus Stadium.

The Blues went into the must-win game under a cloud of criticism after coach Brad Fittler made seven changes to his team.

But his reinforcements proved their worth, starring in the victory.

Manly’s Tom Trbojevic scored the first Blues hat-trick since 2005 and James Maloney notched up 10 points and two try assists in an all-round team performance.

The Maroons are famed for their loyalty but changes could be in store after the defeat, their second worst in Origin history.

The pressure will be ramped up as Game III heads to the Blues’ heartland at ANZ Stadium.

The Continuous Call Team will bring you all of the coverage on Wednesday, July 10.
