The Queensland Maroons have today unveiled the 2022 jersey ahead of the State of Origin series this year, with a “nod to the old heritage”.

Queensland Rugby League CEO Rohan Swayer said it was also a nod to the 1982 series.

“Like any kid who grows up and aspires to play in that maroon jersey, every time we reveal or announce a new jersey, I get goosebumps as well,” he told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports.

“It’s fantastic to see the new jersey, albeit it’s a real nod to the old heritage.”

He also spoke about the new streaming service platform, Qplus.tv will broadcast over 400 games across Queensland.
