New documentary on rock group The Angels takes a deep dive into the band’s history

Sofie Formica

Australian rock band The Angels have been immortalised in a new film.

The band’s founder, John Brewster, agreed it was a “warts-and-all” look at the band’s history.

“I didn’t see it until opening night which was the opening movie of the Adelaide Film Festival,” he told Sofie Formica.

“I didn’t want to see the movie until it was out there and done, I am really happy with it.

“I squirm a bit in my seat a bit sometimes because I get a bit emotional, I am really happy with it.”

He said the songs still feel fresh today, and shared the turning point in their career: meeting ACDC.
