Neil Breen has vented frustration about Brisbane City Council’s plans to redesign the bus station at South Bank, saying it’s currently an eyesore.

The council today released new artist’s impressions for the redesign, which will become an “entirely new precinct”.

Brisbanites are told to expect wider footpaths, shaded walkways, public art, a shared cycle way, a brand new pocket park on Grey Street as part of the revamp.

“This is my message to the Brisbane City Council: you have just released images of the redesign  of the bus stop at South Bank, are you joking? That place has been a war zone for years,” Neil said.

He said the area is a dangerous eyesore.

“Late 2024? I am sorry but that is totally and utterly unacceptable.”
