Neil Breen says Tim Paine’s book attempts to ‘rewrite history’ over sandpaper-gate

Neil Breen says former Australian cricket captain Tim Paine’s book attempts to ‘rewrite the history’ on the sandpaper-gate cricket scandal in South Africa in 2018.
The scandal saw Australian cricketers use a piece of sandpaper to scuff up a ball in order to gain an advantage during a Test match against the Proteas.
Captain Steve Smith and opening batsmen David Warner were forced to step down after being found to be involved along with Cameron Bancroft.
Former cricket captain Tim Paine expressed regret in his book that the wider team didn’t rally around those three players.
“Yes the team could have rallied around them better, but at the end of the day those three blokes did it,” Neil Breen said on 4BC Drive.
“And I’m kind of sick of us trying to rewrite the history of it – it happened!”
