Neil Breen on why now’s the time for the government to come clean

Neil Breen says the state government should lay out their intentions for Queensland’s COVID-19 restrictions.

It is still unclear whether Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk plans to be rid of lockdowns once Australia reaches an 80 per cent vaccination rate.

With six separate clusters of coronavirus active in Queensland and no lockdown, Neil is hopeful this is a turning point for the government.

“The government says it’s actually okay and we think we can control it,” he said.

“Why don’t you just say: ‘You know what, we as a government are starting to move forward, we are starting to change tack and we are hopeful of opening up’.

“If they are the intentions pre-Christmas, let it be known now so people can book, people can get their act together.”
