A Gold Coast musician has allegedly been assaulted for refusing to play a requested song.

The 35-year-old man exited the Mermaid Beach bar where he was allegedly headbutted by one man and punched in the face  by another on February 13.

Earlier the men had been inside the Nobby Beach bar where they’d ask the musician to play a song, which he declined.

Police have released vision of two men they want to speak to.
