A mother’s dying wish to help save the lives of countless women battling breast cancer has come true.

A new treatment, called Trodelvy, has been listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods, thanks to the inspiring efforts of advanced metastatic triple-negative breast cancer sufferer Alison Day.

Trodelvy works by targeting cancerous cells and directly delivers chemotherapy in and around the cell to kill the disease.

While it’s too late to cure Ms Day, she has tirelessly lobbied for the approval of Trodelvy to help other women.

“I could have had [Trodelvy] as a stage 3 patient and potentially not gone to stage 4, which is ultimately terminal,” she told Deborah Knight.

“For me, it is the only drug in 18 months that has ever made a dent in my cancer.

“Hopefully that means I have more time on this planet with my children and for other women, they don’t have to go through any of this and will just get access.”
