More women make allegations against Craig McLachlan
At least two more people have come forward to police, accusing Australian entertainer Craig McLachlan of inappropriate behaviour.
Three cast members from the 2014 production of the Rocky Horror Show are accusing the 52-year-old of bullying and sexually inappropriate behaviour, both on-stage and behind the scenes.
Mr McLachlan has denied all allegations against him.
Fairfax journalist Kate McClymont broke the story and spoke with Steve Price about her investigation which has now prompted more women to come forward.
“I can understand that it was a controversial musical production that was oozing with sexuality, but this doesn’t excuse you from going into people’s dressing rooms, exposing yourself, pressing your penis up against them.
“It doesn’t give you the right to come up and start groping them between their legs… and I think that’s not part of the production and it’s not acceptable behaviour.”
Well-known performers including Christie Whelan Browne and Erika Heynatz were the first to speak out publicly after allegedly having their complaints ignored by the production company at the time.
“The actresses are really annoyed about the Gordon Frost Organisation’s response.
“We’ve seen an email from Christie Whelan Browne that was contemporaneously sent to her agent, detailing how she had spoken to John Frost [Managing Director] and had said that she was absolutely terrified of Craig.”
Ms McClymont tells Steve Price there is more to come.
“Yesterday more people contacted us alleging similar behaviour, and some of them were members of the public who have had encounters with him.
“We understand that two more people have gone to the police detailing other behaviour by McLachlan.”
