Medibank hackers pause data dumps ahead of investor meeting

Russian hackers have uploaded the medical data of more Medibank customers to the dark web but are holding off on further releases.
The latest file dump concerns mental illnesses, as well as a range of other health conditions, infections and injuries.
The cyber criminals have been releasing customer information nearly every day but say they won’t upload any more until Friday.
It’s an indication they’ll be closely watching Medibank’s annual meeting on Wednesday, where stakeholders will have the chance to grill the company about its response to the cyber attack.
Intelligence obtained by federal police has pointed to the hackers being “a group of loosely-affiliated cyber criminals” based in Russia.
It’s understood the group is likely responsible for past significant breaches in other countries.
