An attacker is on the run after a stabbing on the Gold Coast that’s left a neighbour in a critical condition.

A 40-year-old man heard the glass door of his neighbour’s Palm Beach home being smashed around 9.30pm last night.

When he went outside to investigate, he was stabbed in the chest.

He’s been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
