A man is in custody this morning after a mother’s body was discovered in bushland off a rural road in North Queensland. 

A group of teenagers found the body yesterday, close to a popular fishing spot in the seaside suburb of Bluewater.

It’s believed the woman died at the spot and knew her attacker.

A 38-year-old man was arrested around 8.30pm last night in Proserpine “without incident” and is assisting with enquiries.

Police allege he was involved in a shooting incident with a passing motorist on the Bruce Highway near Yarlboroo yesterday morning.
