Man charged with attempted murder after woman suffers violent injuries

A man has been charged over the alleged attempted murder of a woman at Woodridge yesterday.
Police allege around 10.15am, a 38-year-old woman went to a Woodridge unit to collect property when she was attacked.
A 35-year-old man, who she knows, allegedly assaulted and suffocated her, before using a knife to cause a significant laceration to her throat.
She was taken to hospital in a stable condition with significant head and facial injuries.
The man ended up contacting police an hour later and has been charged with one count of attempted murder.
He was transported to Logan Hospital in a stable condition, where he remains under police guard.
