There’s been a major incident at Essendon Airport.

An aircraft has exploded and burst into flames after crashing into a nearby building at the DFO.

It’s been confirmed the five-person aircraft was a charter flight on the way to King Island.

There’s no word on casualties at this stage.

The Calder and Tullamarine Freeways are both closed, as is Bulla Road.
