Luke Evans on his new album, a duet with Nicole Kidman and staying humble

4BC Afternoons

Welsh singer and actor Luke Evans is modest and grateful for his incredible career.

In a lengthy and light-hearted chat on 4BC Afternoons, he spoke about how he found his way in a sometimes brutal industry, starring in Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers and the movie adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.

“I am grateful for every step of the way … there’s no guarantees in this business,” he told Rob McKnight.

He has a new Christmas album out, even featuring a duet with his friend Nicole Kidman.

“I had this crazy idea, and my label were like ‘do you think she’d say yes?’ I’m like I don’t know!”

Asked about a possible prequel for Beauty and the Beast, Evans says it’s still up in the air.

“Basically it’s on hold.”
