The newly-minted UK Prime Minister has the lowest-ever approval rating of any British political leader after a disastrous six weeks in the job.

A YouGov survey has found 80 per cent of British adults view Liz Truss unfavourably and more than half think she should stand down as leader.

It’s 17 points worse than former prime minister Boris Johnson’s worst-ever score of -53 per cent.

“In those six weeks, two of them, of course, were taken up with the mourning the Queen, so we really only had four weeks,” UK correspondent Adam Gilchrist told Laurel, Gary & Mark.

“In that time, we had a mini budget, with all the economic policies laid out, in which we were told the Prime Minister and her Chancellor were absolutely in-step with each other.

“And now every single policy, pretty much, in that budget has been u-turned, the Chancellor’s been sacked, another’s been put in place.”
