Lisa McCune on what the small screen and stage has taught her

Sofie Formica

Lisa McCune says she counts herself lucky that she’s been able to dip her toes into the television world and theatre as well.

The well-loved Australian actress says her experience on stage is very different to the gruelling TV filming schedule, but says she loves and appreciates both.

“Theatrical world is sustaining 8 shows a week, you’re on stage live for 2.5 hours, and you’ve got a live audience, they’re different every night so you’re kind of having to check in with them,” she told Sofie Formica in Sofie’s Tea Time chat.

“On television of course … it’s kind of like studying, you’re remembering new stuff all the time, that’s exhausting.”

She will feature in a new musical in Brisbane, Girl from the North Country, where she plays a character with early onset dementia.
