Confidential internal documents have revealed Instagram is seeing a dramatic downturn in use by young Australians.

Instagram usage is down by nine per cent, at 36 minutes a day on average over six months.

The greatest decline was seen in Australian teenagers compared with the US, Britain, France and Japan.

Neil Breen said he’s relieved to see usage on the decline.

“Use the internet to your advantage, don’t let it win.

“Maybe kids are shunning it – I hope they are.”
