Queensland is looking to make it easier for people to change the sex on their birth certificates.

It will no longer be a requirement people have undergone any reassignment surgery to change their gender.

Director of Potts Lawyers Bill Potts told Sofie Formica a lot of the criticism he is hearing is about fear of the unknown.

“The reality is, people don’t necessary identify as male or female.”
