Two students from St Thomas More College have tested positive to coronavirus.

Both children were already in home quarantine following the detection of an infectious 13-year-old last week.

It’s been determined one student had spent time active in the community while infectious, so Queensland Health’s list of exposure sites is expected to be updated today.

Despite this, Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young says she is “fairly confident this cluster is in hand”.

“I think we don’t need these ongoing restrictions for aged care, disability care, hospitals and prisons.

“They’ll be able to immediately return to their normal practices.”
