New Broncos recruit Kurt Capewell says the players are the “fittest he’s seen” as the Broncos eye off a strong 2022 season.

The former Panthers player spoke to Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports.

“First game in the new colours, to see all the hard work we’ve put in in the pre-season to see what we can produce round one is going to be really good,” he said.

He said there were a “lot more old heads” than last year.

“We’ll be leaning on those sorts of players to guide us younger players, I say us younger players I’m not probably young at this club, but you know how much raw talent is at this club, to have someone guide them around the park like Adam [Reynolds] is going to be awesome.”

He said it was the fittest squad he’d seen in his life.

“They’re strong they’ve got someone to lead them now, which is good.”
