Harvey Norman Women in League founder Katie Page believes the success the women’s game is currently experiencing is only the beginning.

This year’s ‘Women in League’ round marks the first time the event will be celebrated across both the NRL and the NRLW, reflecting the continued growth of the women’s game.

Ahead of this year’s NRLW season there were concerns over the competition being expanded to 10 teams this year, but Page told The Continuous Call Team she was never worried about it succeeding.

“The risk was you wouldn’t get the broadcast coverage, as long as you’ve got media covering this your fine,” Page said.

“Very few people can get to the games when you look at the population of Australia, when you look at the amount of games we have on free to air, that’s made an enormous difference.”
