Following the departure of Sam Burgess from the South Sydney Rabbitohs, clear divisions have emerged within the club. 

NRL legend, Johnathan Thurston, attributed the breakdown of the club to multiple factors, including the playing group and coaching staff.

Johnathan Thurston, told Bill McDonald on Wide World of Sports, “You don’t see these types of headlines coming out of a real tight-knit group, a tight-knit team, a tight-knit club…”

“When it comes time to go to work, he [Latrell Mitchell] should be a seven or eight out of ten every week, and honestly his performance on the weekend was not up to standard and I think that’s really starting to eat away at the rest of the playing group…” Mr. Thurston continued.
