Sydney Thunder wicketkeeper Jay Lenton says he’s “very excited” to play in BBL|07 for first time.

The 27-year-old comes into the side to play his first match of the season, replacing Jos Buttler who links up with the England ODI squad ahead of their five-match series against Australia.

Lenton told Macquarie Cricket’s Julian King pre-game that Jos Buttler’s absence left him “big shoes to fill” ahead of Thursday night’s match against Perth Scorchers.

“(Buttler’s) a great guy all round and has plenty of time for the group and plenty of time for me,” he said pre-game.
