Peter Psaltis says a blockbuster NRL match between Brisbane’s two teams for the first time clashes with the Brisbane Lions’ first home game.

On Friday night, the Dolphins and Broncos will meet for the first time at Suncorp Stadium in what’s being called the battle of Brisbane.

At the Gabba, the Lions will take on Melbourne for their first home game.

Psalty told Laurel, Gary and Mark the two codes have to work together better.

“I’ve got to say, the NRL came out with heir draw first, what were the AFL doing saying two Brisbane team are playing in the NRL let’s put the Lions on the same night, it’s craziness!”

He also made a bold declaration about the Broncos this year.

“You know what, I will say it now, the Broncos are a premiership force in 2023.

“They have beaten Penrith and they have beaten the North Queensland Cowboys .. they are right up there now Brisbane as being one of the competition heavyweights and I think they are destined for a top four finish.”
