Kalyn Ponga was awarded the highest accolade in NRL, the Dally M medal, recognising him as the best player of the 2023 season.

The race for the Dally M came down to the last round, with Kalyn Ponga overtaking Shaun Johnson by just one point.

Dally M medalist for 2023, Kalyn Ponga, told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports, “It hasn’t sunk in yet, give me a couple days…I’ll definitely look back on this year and be proud not only of my own efforts I think the team as well, what we’ve been able to achieve and give back to the city…”

“It’s been a journey this one, it’s a rollercoaster this sport we play but worth every turn,” he continued.
