Neil Breen has blasted Queensland Health after a mother was reportedly separated from her premature baby.

The Courier Mail reports the woman went into labour at 30 weeks, one day after entering hotel quarantine.

The woman was allegedly forced to return to mandatory hotel quarantine several days after the birth, while her baby remained in care at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

“Are we absolutely kidding ourselves?” Neil Breen asked. “Is this for real?

“Are we still doing this in this state, despite all the lessons and all the failures of Queensland Health?

“What does a premature baby need in life? One: care in a hospital, yeah, getting that; two: its mother.”
