‘Intense’ hail, damaging winds forecast to dampen Valentine’s plans
A storm forecast today could put a pin in plenty of Valentine’s Day plans.
Around 100 millimetres of rain are expected to hit parts of the south-east in slow-moving storms predicted to pack a punch.
Today reporter Mia Glover told Laurel & Mark now is quite literally “the calm before the storm”.
“They tell me that they’re going to bring damaging winds, some pretty intense hail, and also intense and heavy rainfall,” she said.
“They’re telling me that areas north of Brissie, those northern suburbs and even the Sunshine Coast, all the way up to Gympie, will be the worst, although the storm band is quite large.”
