The Premier has responded to reports she blocked the Public Service Commission from picking staff to work on the integrity review.

Annastacia Palaszczuk told parliament the review needs to be done independently, which is why no public servants will be taking part.

Public service staff are reportedly set to be handpicked to work on the state’s integrity review.

Director-General of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet Rachel Hunter has told all staff to submit their CVs to be considered to assist Professor Peter Coaldrake. (See the full email below)

Deputy Commissioner of the Public Service Commission Peter McKay will consider applications for a project manager and two project officers.

“In other words,” Neil Breen said, “Peter McKay … works for Rob Setter, who’s the Commissioner of the Public Service Commission.

While I am sure many of us will be involved in the review in some way, Professor Coaldrake is seeking a small, dynamic team to support the review.

The team will comprise: A project manager – primary responsibility will include supporting the Reviewer and managing the overall program of work; and Two Project Support officers – primary responsibility will be to conduct research and navigate the sector.
