A young woman who survived two horrific incidents just years apart is celebrating her 21st birthday.

Sophie Delezio was just two years old when a driver lost control of his car and slammed into her Sydney childcare centre.

Then, as a five-year-old, she was struck by another car while being pushed in a pram.

She lost both her feet, her hand and right ear.

Sophie says 15 years on, life hasn’t been without its challenges.

“I went to three different high schools,” she told Rob McKnight. “I moved around a bit because I never found the right fit.

“There were parts in all my schools that I went to where, especially my first two, they didn’t really understand my disability or my disability needs.”
