‘I felt a bit sick’: Why current conditions have police worried

Motorists are reminded to drive with extra care in the coming days. 

There’s no sign of the roads drying out, with rain set to continue until the weekend.

“It doesn’t get any better for a few days, I’m told,” Acting Chief Superintendent of Road Policing Ray Rohweder said to Neil Breen.

“I felt a bit sick last night when I really looked at what was happening.

“The last time we had significant rain here, we lost four lives.”
