An appeal for donations has been launched following flooding in southern Queensland.

The state government-funded donation coordinator, GIVIT, has listed items that are already needed.

GIVIT State Manager Jo Beadle told Spencer Howson vouchers are the first thing that can help most people after a disaster.

“We already know those vouchers will be critical,” she said.

“The important thing with those vouchers as well is we will use them to purchase items within those local areas.

“We’re actually helping the economy to recover at the same time.”
