Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart says the club embraces the underdog label, after beating Melbourne Storm in the elimination final on Saturday.

Speaking to Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports, Stuart said it was a strong performance to knock the Storm out of the finals.

Psalty remarked the players are always able to shake off anything negative and keep their heads in the game.

Stuart said it was a part of their DNA and culture.

“I can promise you from a squad and a whole club, we handle adversity very well, we’ve had a lot of it, we actually like being underdogs and having the tag that nobody expects us to win,” he said.

“We are in a position where we’ve got nothing to lose, we’ll go out and have a bit of fun this week, get to the game and see where we get.”

As for the Eels clash, he said their plan was a simple one.
