Unvaccinated Queenslanders are now banned from many public venues under the state’s new vaccine mandate.

Only people who are fully vaccinated will be able to go to places including pubs, restaurants, clubs and sports stadiums.

National Retail Association CEO Dominique Lamb told Spencer Howson no assaults have been reported in the day’s first trading hours.

“So far, so good,” she said. “Of course, we know that’s likely to change, unfortunately.”

Café owner Penny Wolff told Spencer “everything is travelling really well” after her venues adopted a proactive approach to the mandate.

“Our team are doing really well and we’re all really positive.

“We’re trying to approach this and put our energy into moving forward, rather than dwelling on the situation we find ourselves in.”
