One of Australia’s leading horse trainers has lost almost $100,000 in an elaborate email scam.

Rob Heathcote was attempting to purchase a Mercedes-Benz for his wife when a hacker got into his email system and began posing as the dealer.

“I don’t consider myself a dill when it comes to this type of activity, but they got me hook, line and sinker,” he told Ray Hadley.
