Houseboat breaks free of moorings on Nerang River

Wild weather has caused a houseboat to break free of its moorings on the Nerang River.
The houseboat was being pushed toward the Sundale Bridge by strong currents in the river.

Nine News weatherman Luke Bradnam told Neil Breen water police swooped in just in time.
“We’ve seen this ad nauseum with the Brisbane River with boats breaking free of their mooring,” he said.
“Honestly mate, it was like an action movie, you’d think it was too far-fetched to believe.”
