Queensland’s hospitality industry is counting down the hours until the state’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate eases. 

From 1am tomorrow, patrons will no longer need to prove they have received two doses of a vaccine to enter venues.

Queensland Hotels Association CEO Bernie Hogan told Spencer Howson it’s been a long time coming.

“It’s one of the very last things that [was] holding the industry to account,” he said.

“For many staff, it’s a relief. It’s that one extra argument they don’t have to have anymore.”
