Gary Hardgrave

Bruce Willis is stepping away from his acting career after being diagnosed with aphasia.

The disorder is caused by damage to specific brain regions that impact the ability to comprehend or formulate language.

The 67-year-old is best known for playing John McClane in the Die Hard films.

His family announced the decision in a joint statement.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Neil Breen the actor was absent from a Pulp Fiction reunion on Oscars night.

“I think it’s pretty bad,” he said on the state of Willis’ condition.

“Remember five years ago when he was on Broadway, doing a play called Misery, he had an earpiece in his ear giving him the lines.”
