‘Herculean effort’ to get some train services running again

It’s expected it could take a “week or so” before Queensland’s rail network will be more operational.
Public transport will be free until Sunday.
Transport Minister Mark Bailey says some services will be back up and running tomorrow, and it was a “Herculean effort” by crews.
“The rail network is still pretty badly impacted in some areas,” he told Scott Emerson.
“We are opening what we can tomorrow on a reduced Saturday timetable, some lines are only part lines, so if people want to travel by train tomorrow, check out the adjusted map and get online to look at what’s there because it’s going to look a bit different to their usual network.
“As we repair and rectify things we will be adding to that on a daily basis.”
He said there was a lot of work underway, and he said it would take a “week or so” until it returned to a more normal timetable.
Tolls will be free across the South-East, including the Toowoomba Bypass and the Logan Motorway.
