South-east Queensland motorways are experiencing heavy delays thanks to the long weekend congestion.

4BC traffic reporter Rhys Messenger said at one point, there was 50 kilometres of delays on the Bruce Highway, which has now settled to around 25 kilometres.

“It’s mainly bad news, still got very heavy traffic heading down to the Gold Coast for the M1 from Beenleigh to Helensvale, that’s 30 kilometres worth.

“Delays still continue for the Bruce Highway northbound.”
