Health Minister Shannon Fentiman has announced a new prescription program that will aid both Queenslanders and local GPs.

The announcement has unveiled a new statewide program that will allow Queenslanders access to common prescription medicine at a pharmacy.

Trent Twomey, National President of the Pharmacy Guild told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “This is not just great news for Queensland pharmacists…it’s great news for Queenslanders…”

“Unfortunately, there is enough sickness to go around that will keep every GP really busy and every pharmacist busy, so this is not about GPs and pharmacists…this is about all of us doing everything we can make sure that we keep Queensland living as healthy and happy lives as possible,” Mr. Twomey continued.
