The Prime Minister says Australians could get an extra public holiday if the Socceroos win the World Cup.

The Australian side has kept its hopes alive and will now face Argentina on Sunday morning in a sudden death match.

Anthony Albanese has joked in parliament that an extra day off could be on the cards.

“It was a bit late at 4am in the morning to call a public holiday today but I reckon if we win the World Cup, that might be a different story.

“We’ll wait and see how that goes. I think that would be very hard to resist, Mr Speaker.”

Laurel, Gary & Mark this morning put the question to our listeners: should we get a public holiday if the Socceroos win?
