Man in custody after overnight siege on Gold Coast

A man has been taken into police custody after a lengthy siege on the Gold Coast.
Emergency services were called to the townhouse in Labrador around 4.30 yesterday afternoon on reports of a disturbance between a man, woman and child.
“When they arrived on scene, the woman and child fled from that townhouse but then the man stayed inside by himself,” Today reporter Mia Glover earlier told Laurel, Gary & Mark.
“We do believe he is threatening to explode a gas bottle inside that townhouse.”
Neighbours were evacuated or told to stay indoors, with no one allowed in or out of the complex this morning.
“We’ve seen firefighters here on scene just in case something does go wrong.”
