Ray Hadley has unleashed on former Queensland Premier Campbell Newman over a social media post about this morning’s CBD pedestrian fatality.

A woman was hit by a bus at the intersection of Wharf and Ann Street just before 7am.

Paramedics worked on her for around 20 minutes but were unable to save her life.

Just two hours later Mr Newman took to Twitter, criticising police for causing traffic “chaos”.

There must be a better way for the Qld Police to deal with a tragic pedestrian death than to shut down the entire northern side of Brisbane and create total and utter chaos extending more than 5 km from the CBD.

Mr Newman’s post sparked an avalanche of criticism from the public and the media alike, including from those who witnessed the tragedy.

Having watched a Police officer battle in vain for 10mins or more to save this lady’s life to come out with such an insensitive comment is beyond belief, I’m sure anyone caught up in this “Chaos” would be more sympathetic to hearing a Mother/Sister/Daughter had just died

Such as? Move the body before investigation is complete? Traffic dramas are frustrating but from someone who was there police were doing what they could, as quick as they could, under tough circumstances

What an incredibly inconsiderate thing to say. Someone died. A family’s life has been changed forever today and all you can do is whinge about QLD police doing something better with the traffic. Go and crawl back into the hole that you came from and don’t come out.

Instead of apologising for his comments and removing the post, Campbell Newman doubled down on his stupidity.
