Two fishermen were thrown for their boat on the Gold Coast yesterday as they attempted to cross the seaway.

The Victorian holidaymakers were spotted clinging to the underside of the vessel after a freak wave wiped them out.

Nearby jetskis were on hand to help scoop the men up as they awaited emergency services.

Lucky Strike skipper Ross McCubbin told Luke Bradnam he was in the boat just ahead of the one that capsized.
