Australia is back in action in the Davis Cup tennis, taking on Germany in Brisbane.

Up-and-coming teen sensation Alex De Minaur takes on world-number-five Alexander Zverev at the Pat Rafter Arena today.

One man who has complete faith in the 18-year-old is the Queensland great Mal Anderson.

The major champion and two-time Davis Cup winner tells Alan Jones De Minaur has huge potential.

“Down the track, he’s going to be a very hard competitor.

“I’m very impressed with him, his attitude on the court, his speed on the court.

“What I liked about him is he’s not scared to move forward to the net and very few young ones are doing that.”

Mr Anderson also recalls his own tennis career which started on a dirt court on a farm in the Queensland outback.
