There’s a warning from police to be wary of scammers looking to take advantage of fans for State of Origin Game III.

Tickets sold out more than two weeks ago to the decider at Suncorp Stadium.

Queensland police are warning fans eager to snag a seat to be aware of scammers taking advantage of desperate fans.

“The trick there is to actually read the tickets, when you are communicating with the individual you have to try and legitimise them as much as possible,” Detective Superintendent Lance Vercoe from the financial and cyber crime group said.

He told Neil Breen on Brisbane Live odd phrases or poor grammar in the ad can be an indication that it could be a scam.
