Experts urgently calling for mobile phone ban in Qld schools

Gary Hardgrave

The Education Minister Grace Grace is under pressure again regarding mobile phones in school.

Child psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg and cyber safety expert Susan McLean have penned an urgent letter to Ms Grace Grace to bring Queensland schools in line with the rest of Australia and bring in a mobile phone ban during the school day.

Neil Breen said on Brisbane Live that he’s perplexed as to why we have “mobile phones in classes in Queensland when they’re being banned everywhere else”.

“The union don’t want to bring in a ban because they don’t want teachers having to be responsible for the extra work of putting the phones in the pouches”, Neil Breen commented.
