EXCLUSIVE | Baton stolen from prison guards

Article image for EXCLUSIVE | Baton stolen from prison guards

Corrective Services New South Wales is seeking a review from prison operator, GEO Group, after a baton went missing at Parklea Correctional Centre.

Ray Hadley received a tip that the jail went into lockdown last week, with centre management claiming it was just a drill.

But now Ray reveals that’s untrue. The jail actually went into lockdown because an extendable baton had been lost.

Corrective Services NSW confirms this, saying “the item was unaccounted for when an equipment check was conducted on Thursday, forcing the prison to go into lockdown.”

The extendable baton is yet to be found.

Ray Hadley has unleashed on GEO Group which has a history of disgraceful administration at the jail and has lost the bid to run it into the future.

“This mob are a disgrace.

“The prison officers today are at risk. The whole thing’s just a damned disgrace.”
