An elderly woman has suffered horrific injuries during a brutal home invasion on Sydney’s Upper North Shore.
At about midday on Saturday, 84-year-old Patricia returned to her home at a retirement village on Bobbin Head Road at North Turramurra.
She found an unknown man in her bedroom, who allegedly attacked her before fleeing out the front door.
Patricia suffered serious injuries and was taken to Sydney Adventist Hospital where she is continuing to undergo treatment.
Strike Force Calculus has been established to investigate the incident, with detectives and specialist forensic officers looking into every angle.
Now, investigators and Patricia’s daughter are asking for the public’s help.

They have addressed the media, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The attacker is described as between 30 and 50-years-old, about 175-180cm tall, possibly of Asian or Indian appearance, with a medium build, brown eyes, dark hair and clean-shaven.
He was wearing light coloured pants and a jacket, over a button-up shirt and tie at the time of the attack.
NSW Police Detective Acting Superintendent Pat Sharkey tells Ben Fordham Patricia is “progressing well”.
“We hope that she will make as close to a full recovery as possible in time.
“Part of the reason for putting that photo out is to show the gravity of the offence and the savagery.”
